Looking to upgrade from a r5 2600x and rx vega 56 to an r5 3600 and rx 5700 xt, would this be a worth while upgrade or should I leave it a couple of years before I do decide to upgrade

Solution
2600x to 3600 is a slight upgrade, you gain 5-7%. VEGA 56 to RX 5700 XT can be a pretty significant upgrade depending on if the title is optimized around AMD drivers or GPU dependant.

2600x to 3600= 5 to 12 fps gain and generally not worth it
Vega 56 to RX 5700 XT =15 to 50 fps gain so it depends on what you play.

Gotta ask yourself if you have problems running games the way you want,if not no reason to upgrade just for the upgrade. Unless having money enough and just wanting to do it.

If having a generic 60hrz monitor for instance might money be spend better on upgrading that.

Seems like a waste of money unless you are gaming at 4k. A decently undervolted vega 56 can just about hit 60fps in 4k in the majority of titles with a few settings tweaked, at 1440p they are perfect and completely overkill at 1080p. So I guess it comes down to what your screen is to whether the upgrade is worth it.
