Question Upgraded 9700k to 9900k. Bios boots fine but freezes while trying to boot into Windows.

Just got a 9900k and tried installing it in an AORUS Z390 Xtreme Gigabyte motherboard. The bios boots completely fine but freezes about 5 seconds into booting to windows. I've updated the BIOS to the latest version, reset the CMOS, reinstalled RAM, and reinstalled Windows completely and it still has problems

Think we need more parts,like what kind of cooling and psu=maker+model+wattage.
Make sure your motherboard drivers are also up to date (probably need the old cpu for that). And make sure the cooling is installed well.
Also maybe check the cpu socket for bent pins if the above doeesn't work.

it freezes and never recovers (what i think should be the case) or it freezes for 5 seconds and then resumes?

It would freeze and just be stuck, probably indefinitely. The longest I left it was 45 minutes. It's working now though. I reflashed the BIOS again to the latest version and repaired the UEFI within the SSD with the repair option in the Windows Installation Media Tool. Thanks for the help!

The cooler is the H100i v2 and HX750i both from Corsair.

Look at the manufacturers site if there maybe is a firmware update for your ssd. Most have their own tool to check,just download that from their site.
