What kind of motherboard and ps do you currently have? Have you considered a raid set up? Would be a nice system and the quad core should speed up adobe assuming it is quad core optimized.

Depends on your application. A huge difference in games? No, at least not for the price.

Are you overclocking your CPU? If not then...

Would give you a good boost and the cooler will probably carry over to your next platform change.

RAM might makes things a little bit more responsive, but the next platform change you undertake probably won't use DDR2, so unless you can get another 4GB for $20, I wouldn't go for it.

i don't think it would be worth it because of the money you'd have to spend. as mentioned above, you'll have to have a motherboard that supports two gpu's and a quad core processor. also, you'll probably need a 750 or 850 watt power supply.

You need an SLI board with an nvidia chipset to run SLI, btw. Just because your mobo has 2 PCIE slots doesn't mean it can run SLI, so make sure it can. For Photoshop, you won't see any benefit from getting another GTX 260, but it will make a big difference in games. Photoshop will also see a big performance increase from going to a quad and adding another 8gb of ram. I would just get two WD6401AALS drives and run them raid 0 if you want more performance for the HDD's, velociraptors are not worth the price at all. Those 640gb drives will be faster, cheaper and give you over 4x the storage space.

You really don't need the upgrade right now, E8500 + 4GB + GTX 260, your in good shape. Honestly, unless you were going to say a 4870X2, you will be fine. If you really want to see a difference, save up for an i7 system. And as stated before, you would need an SLI board to do 2 GTX 260, meaning 750i, 780i, or 790i chipset. Best bet, OC the E8500, add a 640GB Caviar Black, or 30GB SSD, and get a quality CPU cooler. That will be good. Only get 6-8GB RAM if you are using Vista x64. It might not be worth it considering DDR3 seems to be coming down in price.
