Upgraded CPU/ FPS lowered.

Hey there, i recently upgraded my cpu from an amd fx 8350 black edition to a Intel i7 4790k and i havent been able to run a game since then, before i use to run certain games at 60+ frames now when i run a game i get like 20 frames. I bought a new motherboard also and a new cpu fan, i have no idea whats happened. My gpu is Nvidia 750 ti 2gb. Please help

Did you do a clean reinstall with the new motherboard or are you trying to use the previous install from the old board and cpu? Is the monitor plugged into the video card or the motherboard?

MOTHERBOARD: GIGABYTE 990XA-UD3
GRAPHICS CARD: NVIDIA GEFORCE 750 TI 2GB

now that i have upgraded i now have..

CPU: INTEL I7 4790K
MOTHERBOARD: 797P-D3
GRAPHICS CARD: NVIDIA GEFORCE 750 TI 2GB
CPU FAN: HYPER 212 EVO

i reinstalled windows and installed the new motherboard and the drives everything seems to be up to date.

i have 2 monitors one plugged into the gpu and another into the motherboard. the one connected to the gpu is via vga cable. the other one is connected via HDMI

Connect BOTH monitors to the 750ti GPU. If you have the iGPU on the i7 connected via the motherboard it can sometimes try to take over instead of using your 750ti. this will definitely cause lower FPS.

You need to make certain that all the old drivers have been removed. The OS reinstall probably did that.

All monitors need to be connected to the GPU or 'overhaad' amd communication issues can cause serious problems. You are lucky that they both worked. In some systems, installing a GPU shuts the motherboard video down completely.

i did a full windows reinstall so all the old drives have been deleted and the new ones have been installed.
