Pulled the RAM and HD's so as just to narrow it down to PSU, mobo, CPU, and CPU fan.
Push the power button and NOTHING happens (even tried bridging the "power on" heads with a screwdriver). We thought we grabbed a bad mobo [ASRock z77 Pro4 1115] so I just swapped that out. Same problem!!
So maybe the CPU? Its an i5 3570k Ivy. Perfectly compatible with a z77 1115 correct? Almost impossible to seat a CPU wrong IMO- the notches lined up, clamped the cover down, Hyper 212 mounted correctly as far as I can tell (done it like 10x before)
Tried two different PSU's, one was BRAND NEW out of the box. Though, I found at a lil after we ruled that out that it was a bit of an older PSU. It also only had a 4-pin atx12v and the mobo has an 8-pin. The ASRock manual clearly states that a 4-pin should be ok though.
Standoffs in place, and no extra standoffs anywhere. CPU fan is plugged into CPU_fan1 on mobo. Tried the brand new stock fan too...NOTHING 😡
Cant think of anything else.....reinserted the mobo battery, reseated CMOS jumpers.
Anything I forgot??
THANKS!!
