I wanted to slightly upgrade my gaming system to eke some additional life out of it, so I bought a used i5-7600K online to replace my i5-6500.

I flashed my mobo BIOS to the latest version (3805) to ensure my new CPU would be supported. For the install, I started by cleaning out my PC with air duster. Then I removed my old CPU and replaced it with the new (I used the same stock Intel cooler, I cleaned off the old thermal paste etc).
The system now displays nothing when booting (monitor displays "no signal"), no keyboard or mouse inputs change this. All fans (including the CPU cooler) are spinning, all lights are on as usual. The keyboard and mouse didn't light up like they usually do however. I reinstalled the old CPU and everything seems to be working fine. Is this CPU I bought faulty or is there anything else I can try?

What I've tried so far:

Reset CMOS by shorting pins -> no change
Tried other display ports on GPU -> no change
Reseated old CPU -> system boots and shows no issues
