Question Upgraded from GTX 660 to 1660 and now my computer won't start. ???

What's going on here? I've got enough power, everything's seated properly, I installed the latest BIOS, all cables are connected totally fine.

When I switch back to my 660 everything runs totally normal. Is it possible my motherboard just won't do it? That doesn't seem right.

Here's what I'm running with:
Motherboard: Gateway- DX4870
Processor: Intel i5 - 2320 @ 3.00GHz
12Gb RAM
600w PSU

ANY ideas or suggestions would be appreciated greatly. Thank you guys!

The gpu is a doa send it back to the retailer and have them ship a new one

Yes, I have it plugged in to the 6 pin. The PSU is an EVGA 600w.

Well it's an EVGA gold, so it certainly isn't the worst of their offerings and should be enough here, not sure which OEM builds that one though.
