Upgraded from VGA and quality is not as good?

so, i have always used VGA and a regular LCD tv. recently bought a gtx 1060, and since no VGA port, i also bought a Samsung C32F391 32-Inch Curved LED Monitor.
the picture quality is alright but my VGA/TV set up was so much clearer.
i have tried changing settings on pc and monitor, but cant seem to get to match what i was used to with what was essentially older tech.
any ideas?

Have you tried changing the resolution of the screen?

i have sorted it- in Nvidia control panel i changed the output colour format to RGB. everything looking crystal clear

its native 1080p but thanks- i looked at other resolution options and fixed it
