Upgraded GPU but no Performance difference?

I upgraded my GPU from a gtx 760 to a new gtx 970.

My specs are:
I3 4130
GTX 970 Zotac Edition
Gateway 1440x900p monitor (900p Monitor)
1tb Hardrive

Theres little to no difference from my gtx 760.

I've deleted my old drivers. Did a system restore, overclocked
ect and nothing has helped.

On my 760 I would get 60 - 70 fps on gta v but now I get 58 - 28 fps..
Its horrible! Not only did I waste $330 on a gpu that didnt help but it lowered my fps!
Any help? (I know there is a small bottleneck but i've seen alot of videos at 1080p (I have a 900p)
gaming with a i3 4130 - i3 4160 with a gtx 970 and a 960 and both were way better then mine in terms of performance.

The CPU bottleneck increases as you lower the resolution.

Although, i don't know why your fps dropped. They should stayed the same.

Make sure the gpu is seated correctly in the motherboard slot. Take it out and use the onboard graphics on the intel. Uninstall the nvidia drivers completely with ddu. After you do that reboot. Shut down the pc. Put your card back in the slot and make sure all the wires are securely connected and it is firmly pressed into the pci slot. Reboot. Then install the newest drivers (do a fresh download) from nvidia's website.

I'll try but my nvidia control / computer picks up its a gtx 970 so im not sure if its not all the way in is the problem.

Okay just got back from doing what you said and nothing had changed!

Any other suggestions?

Is your PCIE port set to Gen3?

Is your PSU powerful enough to handle the new card?

Are you using drivers straight from Nvidia and not the ones from Windows Update?

what are your settings in gta 5 and are they the same you were you using with the gtx 760 or did you crank it up with the new card

I kept the setting the same besides Textures which I turned up to High but there's no performance difference if I turn it to normal.

On CS:GO

I would get 200 FPS on Ultra but on now on Low I get 180 FPS MAX Ultra around 30 - 55 fps.
