[SOLVED] Upgraded GPU but now there's no signal

I recently swapped my rx 480 with a 5700xt but now there's no signal.

Things I've tried after searching google for answers:

• Used DDU wipe, then installed GPU
• DDU wipe, installed drivers, then installed GPU
• Reset BIOS

It's only the 5700xt that doesn't seem to work, despite its lights turning on. I get a signal the moment I re-install my rx 480.

My hardware:
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
24 gb ram
ASUS prime b450m-a
evga 600w

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You plugged in both the 6 and 8 pin power into the card?

I have not. Would that do it? Or is that something I shouldn't try?

Just re-read the quick installation guide, and that is indeed something that I should do. I'll give it a swing.

The 6 and 8-pin connectors on the GPU are not optional, they are required. You won't get much out of the GPU with them disconnected.

The connectors are there for a reason. You need to have both 6pin and 8pin plugged in, in order to work.
