Question Upgraded just the GPU

I have an older build that is really struggling on some of the newer games and I was wondering if I upgraded my 1070 to a 3060 if it would improve performance. I threw everything into PC parts picker and it seems to be compatible, but I've been reading about bottle necking can be caused by the CPU. Is that something I would have to worry about about with this upgrade or would it get me by for another couple years?

What screen resolution? You will be CPU limited in a lot of games especially in 1080p. You will be losing 30%+ of your GPUs performance potential in some CPU intensive games. If it were me, I would consider an i7-6700K on eBay for around $65 to add with it if you want to continue using your current build.
