I just upgraded my Dell XPS8700 i7 from 4X4GB of Samsung memory. The motherboard had 2 white memory slots and 2 black slots. After going to Crucial, I found compatible memory and replaced 2 4GB sticks with 8GB sticks in the black slots and left 2 4GB sticks in the white slots. The computer still boots up and all looks okay, but it is taking a lot longer to boot up and to launch new programs. any ideas? I tried reading other posts and following some of the diagnostic advice. Below are the specs from different programs. Would appreciate any help that any of you can lend. Thank you so much.

I ran CPU-Z for each of the 4 slots

overall frequency 3990.5MHz

Frequency for all the slots shows JDEC#3 609Mhz JDEC#4 685 Mhz JDEC #5 761Mhz and JDEC #6
800Mhz

new voltage for al JEDEC shows as 1.35V, for old ones 1.5V

Solution
Try it out with just the 2x8Gb sticks. CPU-Z it and make sure it's running in dual slot mode. There's a good chance that even though it looks like all of your RAM is playing nicely together, well, maybe not so much. Give it a shot.l

It looks like it. When I ran the CPU-Z, it shows 24GBytes of memory, which is the new amount.
When I go to sysinfo it shows:

Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 24.0 GB
Total Physical Memory 24.0 GB
Available Physical Memory 19.1 GB
Total Virtual Memory 27.5 GB
Available Virtual Memory 22.4 GB
