Recently I bought a 9 cell battery to replace my 6 cell battery with a life of . Unfortunately when the battery gets around 33% it turns off. I say around 33% because it seems to only turn off when it is under 34% and I try to open a file, exit fullscreen, sometimes start typing (I have a back lit keyboard),, or move my mouse.
Here is what I have gathered ...
I've googled the problem but I can't find a similar issue anywhere and I'm out of ideas.

Here is what I have gathered ...
■I know that I wasn't scammed and got a 6 cell battery in a 9 cell shell because I can wait about 30 seconds and turn the computer on and use the computer for 10-15 minutes before it shuts down again
■I know it doesn't have to do with windows. It happens on linux (12.04LTS). Also I have the "low battery action" (found in power options -> advanced settings) set to do nothing.
■ I believe it has to do with bios or my mother board not registering the extra 3 cells. Otherwise I don't think I would have to wait 30 seconds to turn the computer back on. Unfortunately flashing bios didn't fix the problem and I don't know how to test the motherboard.
■ This is possibly unrelated but ever since I got my new battery my computer will sometimes say plugged in but not charging. I tried this the solution here http:// and it seemed to work until I turned off the computer again. BUT the charger is about a year old and I travel a lot so I wouldn't be suprised if the pin is loose. So unless this helps diagnose the problem, don't worry about it.
