Hi,

I just purchased the Platinum edition. I had the original, but didn't have
the expansions. The game worked just fine using the 'old' version. I
unstalled and then installed the PE. Now I get a lot of crashes. I started
a new game and it now crashes at the same place EVERY time. It crashes when
I am talking with Arabeth (sp?) when she says to crush the invaders (at the
end of the academy). The sound is like an old vinyl record skipping. I
then get a 'Do you want to report an error' screen, then CTD. I have played
around with all of the sound options, it makes not difference. I have also
tried to play with no sound.

Any suggestions...................TIA....Rob

FYI,

I upgraded video and sound card drivers - no luck.

I uninstalled the PE and reinstalled the game on my C drive, it was on D
drive the first time I installed the PE. I also did NOT update the game.
Everything now seems to be working. I have played the game upto getting out
of the Academy and I am now in the Hall of Justice. I don't know what fixed
it: either installed to C drive or not updating to the latest version of the
game. Come to think of it, it must be not upgrading the game because the
original game was installed on D drive and it worked
fine.......hmmmm.........Rob

<snip>

Have you patched it? Platinum edition has a bug in it which apparently
causes a crash in certain cinematic moments (scripted cutscenes, not
movies).
