Hello

I just upgraded the firmware of my router to the latest version which was shown on the company website (Billion), I did everything correctly... I think. Everything was working out fine, I waited for the firmware to upgrade, once it was finished I was immediately disconnected from the internet and the network was renamed to wlan-ap with no internet access.

So I decided to re connect to the network and I was asked to choose between 'Home, Work and Public' and so I obviously chose home. I successfully connected to the network but then it said 'Additional logon information was required' to connect to the internet. I clicked on it and it brought up a webpage.... but since I didn't have any internet connection, the page couldn't load. So I can't add in any additional logon information because I don't have any internet access. So I'm pretty much stuck and confused here. I really need help. I'm afraid that the firmware update might have reset all the settings we had on the router due to me choosing the 'Factory settings' other than the 'Current settings'. If this is true, is there a way to get it back? I've been on up for hours searching for a solution and nothing has helped so far. Please help

If you guys want any more info about my PC specs or about my router, please ask..

Thanks

resetting it to factory settings erased all your gateway and other PPPoE settings you had. You need to recover the correct settings (from your internet provider) and setup the router again like you did the first time you had it going. Use the browser interface, it's the easiest way.
For reference: always go into settings and write down any and all custom settings from your router, modem or anything else you plan to modify. It makes it a breeze to re-type these after the job.

Hey guys, thanks for the posts.

We just tried using a backup config file that stored all our previous settings for our router and whenever we try to upload it as the backup file, it would just say 'Image uploading failed. The selected file contains an illegal image'. We are kinda clueless on how to fix this. Nothing online has resolved it. We think we might have to re-enter it all again manually but we don't have a lot of knowledge about this stuff so we're going to need a bit of help in doing so.
