Question upgraded to 1070 from the 1060 3gb and getting terrible performance and also very low gpu usage

So I just got a new 1070 to upgrade from my old 1060 3gb. I uninstalled the old drivers with DDU and installed the new ones, i launched farcry 5 as my first game and im getting 40-60fps with constant stuttering, on my 1060 i got 50-60 fps with barley any stuttering. I looked at afterburner an noticed my gpu temp only went up around 10 degrees Fahrenheit after playing , i then tried to test the card with msi kombustor and the gpu usage was at 0% and then i did it again and it was at 99% still getting the same performance as the 0% usage, I have no idea whats going on, its like my pc is using majority of my cpu integrated graphics and very little of my gpu (which doesn't make sense) I have no idea how to fix this, help por favor

my PSU is a thermal take 600watt

cpu- ryzen 3 2200g (shouldn't be a bottleneck problem)

16gb ddr4 ram at 2200 mhz

1. Did you plug your monitor to GPU (not to the motherboard)?
2. I don't think you need to uninstall old driver and install new driver since you stay with Nvidia. I believe you just go to Nvidia website and do update.
3. Return 1070 if you can. I don't think you get a big upgrade from 1060. I think you should upgrade your Ryzen 3 2200G (it has only 4c/4t but it has integrated GPU) to Ryzen 2600 or 3600 (both has 6c/12 threads). Later this year, then may be upgrade to Nvidia 3000 series. If you want to upgrade GPU, did you look at 2000 series like RTX 2060 super or RTX 2070 super?

Anyway, not sure what motherboard you have, it is still good idea to update the motherboard bios so it can run the newer CPU.

Nvidia may release RTX 3000 series in September.

As with all things double check all your settings and drivers but Bottom line there should be a nice performance jump from the 1060 3gb to the 1070. Run Windows power settings in performance mode as well.

I am not sure about the 3 2200G as that is a fairly low end CPU but run a 3DMark Firestrike bench and check your score. This should give you a baseline against others with the same setup as 3DMark can show scores with similar systems.

If there is a big discrepancy, then we know there is an issue either with the GPU or some driver issue.

Also a jump to the 3600X would be a massive boost and would get a lot more out of the 1070...but one thing at a time.

Also double checking the 2200G is bottlenecking with the GTX 1070

I have also read a few threads where this is happening especially at 1080p, even a Ryzen 2600 would be better though when you can go 3600 as it is at such a good price right now...

Hopefully others will jump in especially those with a similar setup to you for better advice than me as I have not used the 2200G though I had a 1070 and it is still a good GPU....

i get that but the thing is im getting worse performance than i did with my 1060, i only spent 200 for the 1070 and im not interested in spending 500 dollars on the 30 series (im 15), and the hdmi is 100% plugged into the gpu. I do know that the 2200 g does bottle neck the 1070 but it should bottleneck it so bad to where im getting worse performance out of my 1070 than i did with my 1060
