I was using a GTX 560 for almost 3 years and decided to upgrade to a better card which was the GTX 960. However, I feel absolutely no difference regarding FPS and performance.... I'm getting just about the same FPS in games that I did with my old card I just feel like I wasted money for no reason.

I'm running windows 7, i7 2600k processor, gtx 960, 8gb ram.

That's because the 960 is worse in some areas than your 560. Things like a 128 bit memory bus vs 320 on the 560. Even though the 960 has some new stuff, it's also crippled by things like that. A 970 or 280 would likely get you better performance.

Look here at the specs for your cards:

Just a few cut corners can really slow down a good card.

As well as total knowledge to refute it. It depends on a variety of factors of course, BUT actually look at the specs and take a look at the areas like bandwidth, which are worse. Of course there is a LOT more to it, but that is a giant, complicated answer beyond the scope of the simplistic answer I gave.
