Hi Everyone it's been a bit since i posted on here but i have a bit of a doosey and I'm hoping the community can help me out. I recently left Optimum to get Verzion FIOS 50/25 internet, I know that FIOS is a Modem/router combo and i was under the impression that i would be receiving this

http://www.actiontec.com/products/product.php?pid=193#.US005qKceZc ( Original FIOS router)

Under that notion i was prepared to disable the router section and use my Linksys E3000 Router as i was told that was a superior router to the one provided by Fios

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833124419 ( Link to my E3000 if anyone needs it)

So that's what i was expecting to do but when i finally ordered the service and they came and installed it i Received this

http://www.actiontec.com/products/product.php?pid=41#.US010aKceZc ( New FIOS router)

i did some Research on this router/modem combo and Apparently Verizon policy was only to provide these to people who had their top tier service the 150/75 internet But that's all i was able to find out about this router.

Anyways After all this long winded information my Question is Is this Newer Version of Actiontec's FIOS router better then my E3000? Or would it still make sense to use the E3000 as my primary router ? IF the FIOS one is Better can i do anything with my E3000 to maybe make a range booster or anything ??? Any ideas and input would be Greatly Appreciated

Depends what your other equipment is. You linksys is dual band but if you do not have 5g equipment then it doesn't matter.

If you have any old G equipment you could run one router on G and the other on N. Not sure if either is going to be better. You can replace the antenna on the fios router which you cannot on the linksys. You can load alternative firmware like dd-wrt on the linksys.
