When I go into my Nvidia control panel the GTX 970 is not showing up. I am also having problems with my mother board not rebooting properly. These may be related but not sure. Any help is really appreciated.

Solution
also check see if there any mb bios updates to see if it a bios bug. also make sure your mb has the newest intel or amd chipset drivers.
First, test without the GTX970 to see if you boot properly.

If GTX970 does not appear, it may be an issue with the motherboard slot (possibly card not fully mounted). You can try it without the GTX1080 to see if that slot with the GTX970 works.

I don't know how much benefit you'd get with the GTX970.

Ok, this problem is one I really did not explain well. I think I am going to have to go back to the beginning and get it resolved from there.

I bought the parts for this computer almost 2 years ago. Since about the first week, every once in a while when I restarted the computer would just power on for a second then power off for like 4 seconds then power on for a second and off for seconds over and over until I pulled the plug from the PSU. It would keep doing that until I pulled the CMOS battery and let it set for a bit.

Then I would have to go into the BIOS and renable everything and set the time and all of that. Well, now it does it EVERY single time I reboot. It is a real pain in the a$$. Getting anything updated is a real pain in the a$$.

I have just flashed my BIOS to the newest version from the MSI website. After reading up on that I thought that was going to be the FIX! But alas it was not. I am thinking I might just have a faulty motherboard. Which sucks. If there is any help on this that would be awesome!

I will double check the intel and chipset drivers as well.
