Hello all

I have just upgraded my PC to the specs in the thread name.
To be more specific. The RAM is:

Corsair Vengeance DDR4 2x8gb 3200.

I have only had issues with windows crashing since the upgrade. It freezes at seemingly random points. Usually one program goes, I can click on another and then a cascading of freezing until nothing works and I have to hard reboot.

I have removed 1 stick of RAM. So far my PC has been on for 10 mins and counting without error and seems to be working ok.

Does this mean the rams bust? I have some incompatibility issues? the mobo doesn't support? (the listed tested memory does include this ram but in 4x4 format)

sorry if this is covered elsewhere I did try searching but couldn't find a related article.

Thank you in advance

Solution
DRAM is prob fine, many 6600Ks can't handle 3200 at stock, try a small OC to the CPU and will prob be fine. Else can also try raising the DRAM voltage + 0.05 and the VCCIO voltage up + 0.075 (VCCIO feeds the MC (memory controller))
1| Can you please pass on your full system's specs inclusive of your OS?
2| If you can get into BIOS without a reboot then there may be an issue with your OS or the timings of your ram. Have you made sure your BIOS is up to date?
3| Have you ruled out that the installer isn't corrupt?
4| You may want to try the stick that you've removed but as a stand alone stick to see if the slots are faulty. It's not unusual to see a board have faulty ram slots.
5| Speaking of slots, have you made sure the rams are populated in the right slots?
