Just a heads up I don't know much about computers 😛.

I just upgraded from 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600MHz to Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2 x 8GB) 2400MHz DDR3. Once I booted up my computer it told me the memory had changed and to enter the bios. I went into the bios and saw the speed was still 1600MHz so I manually changed it to 2400MHz, However whenever I check the status it auto adjusts to 2133 MHz.

CPU-Z only shows the DRAM Frequency at 1066.5 MHz, which I assume I should multiply by 2 and get 2133? Does anyone know why it won't go to 2400 MHz (my motherboard supports it).

Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45

Solution
You may have to flash your bios. I have no idea what version you are running, but they may have had to update it to run that speed RAM as that is pretty fast for DDR3 RAM.
When I go into the BIOS and set the DRAM Frequency to 2400MHz the thing under it called "Adjusted DRAM Frequency" which I can't modify goes to 2133MHz.

Your RAM is running at 2133. The base frequency is 1066.5 which is what CPUz is reading. DDR stands for Double Data Rate which theoretically allows the frequency to double.

To OC your RAM, just go in your bios and select XMP or extreme memory profile 1. It will be a one click OC of your RAM and you will be good to go.

Here is a video about memory oc that will help you.

XMP is greyed out (can't change it) however it says "Enabled" already.

Tried that, didn't help. Thanks for the suggestion though!
