Hi,

I am upgrading two ASUS X456UF laptops with additional 4GB of memory:

LAPTOP SPECS:
CPU: Intel Core i5-6200
MEMORY: 4GB embedded memory
STORAGE: 250GB SSD
BIOS: American Megatrends version 204

ADDITIONAL MEMORY SPECS:
one 4GB Crucial DDR3L 1600 SODIMM 1.35V CL11
one 4GB Hynix 1Rx8 PC3L 12800s

TEST MEMORY SPECS:
one 4GB Kingston Elpida 1Rx8 128000s

Lets name the laptops to be upgraded as PC1 and PC2.
PC1 was upgraded with additional 4GB Crucial DDR3L1600 memory, and the startup was smooth.
PC2 was upgraded with additional 4GB Hynix 1Rx8 PC3L memory, but yielded a black screen with no bios and no sound at boot up.

To validate if Hynix memory is working or not, memories from PC1 and PC2 were swapped.
This time, the 4GB Crucial was in PC2 but still yielded the same black screen issue,
while PC1 startup is running smoothly with 4GB Hynix installed.

Now, to validate if PC2 memory slot is working, a 4GB Kingston Elpida was installed.
This time PC2 boots up with no black screen. However, it still only runs with 4GB of total memory.
The 4GB Kingston memory was detected while the 4GB embedded memory was not.

When no additional memory is installed on PC2, it still runs and boots normally with just 4GB of memory.

Now, the BIG QUESTION:
What would be the possible issue here?
And, what else is there to troubleshoot?
