Hello all,

I recently upgrades from 4 gigs of RAM to 8, acquired an SSD and decided my very old GTX 275 wasn't cutting it anymore, so got a Radeon R9 270x.

Things went well and everything seemed fine. I installed the graphics drivers that it recommended, rebooted as it asked, now it just freezes on the windows startup logo with no mouse cursor or icons or anything.

I went into safemode and rolled back the drivers and it boots normally just fine, but not if I install drivers for my graphics card.

I'm not very tech savvy, but does this sound like a driver problem? Any tips on what I can do about it? I can't really use the card if I can't install drivers for it.

Hi,

Please when posting for help, give us at least you computer specs.

1- Are the ram stick same speed, and timing. If not that could be the problem.
2- Do you have a good 500 w psu, your card needs a good 500 w minimum to run properly.

Since your problem occurs after installing the GPU driver, it's probably related to your GPU.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the lack of information.

My RAM is all the same speed and timing. I purchased 4 sticks together of the same type.
My power supply is a Ritmo Force860gaming.
Motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3
Intel Core i7 860 2.8

My old video card was a GTX 275 and worked fine with this power supply for years. Everything seems to work fine without the drivers.
