Upgrades for my alienware

Hello,
I was wondering if there was a upgrade guide or somthing i can see to upgrade my alienware mx17 laptop, mine has the intel Q9000 cpu and geforce 260m video card with 4gb of ram. Under motherboard it says alienware A02. And system model it says M17X A0223.

I have not heard of such a thing. IMO this seems like something that you would need to contact Dell to find out.

The spect are pretty stacked right now so idk if theres really a point to upgrade it. Next time just go build a pc, no need to worry about manufactures like you would for this... and its alot of fun

do you the the area 51 m17x?
or do you have the m17x R1? i know the r1 is able to get a 280m and sli it as well as the 4850 and 4870 from ati. the r1 can go to the qx9300 there are q9100 and q9200 for quad cores as well. but remember you need a psu of 240 if you go with the qx9300 and another video card to sli. tell me which one you got so i can find a guide for you.

i know its not the area 51, so it must be the R1. Not really sure how to check.

You can buy Windows 7 Home premium and upgrade it on my computer .OEM licenses can only be used on their respective computers, whereas with a retail license, it can be installed and uninstalled from any machine and moved to any machine (but only used once at a time).
