Upgrades that won't break the bank

I'm currently in the process of upgrading some parts for my computer. It's as of right now just strictly used for gaming. But I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed as to what I actually need. I just bought it from a friend who had it built a while ago. I'll list below what I have down below. (If anyone needs more info just feel free to ask and I can provide it)

Motherboard: asus evo with amd

RAM: PNY don't know what size but can find out.

Video card: xfx GeForce gtx 260

Processor: AMD Athlon II

Can you post the exact model of the motherboard, and the PSU brand/model?

What kind of budget are we talking about for "won't break the bank"? $50? $250? $500?

I'd say new GPU for certain, and maybe see if you can pick up a second hand CPU, or see if it supports the FX-6300.

ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO Motherboard

Psu: Antec can't seem to find anything else power wise
Price range would roughly be around 250-400

OK.

I'd pick up a GTX 960 (~$200), and see if you can find a second hand Phenom II X4 or X6. Depending on how much RAM you've got, you might also want to grab more.
