I'd like to begin updating this rig to make it run games. I'm not looking for great performance, I mostly play blizzard and indie games, with the occasional FPS thrown in. Here are some of the specs:

Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q6600

RAM:
M378T2953EZ3-CE6 Samsung 512MB DDR2 SDRAM

Hynix 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2-667MHz

GPU: HIS HD 4670 IceQ 512 MB

Power Supply: Thermaltake W0100R 500W

Is any of this salvageable or does it all need to go if I'm going to play anything smoothly?

considering reusing case,PSU and HDD.. if you have extra $ then...

Hm, well I was hoping to upgrade it for somewhere in the neighborhood of $300, but I know that's quite a low bar for an entire PC. If I take the long road and do some incremental upgrades would I have any shot of running things like diablo and fighters like skullgirls and blazblue?

not really.. 1GB DDR2 is not salvagable since atm world is on DDR3 and slowly moving towards DDR4,CPU isn't that terrible but combined with dated motherboard it's err..well you get it you'd have ot change it anyway..Graphics card is jut terrible for gaming..alright maybe you can reuse powersupply at the very worst since your budget is so low.. il work something out.
