I just purchased a Dell OPTIPLEX 3060 MT that has an I5 CPU, 4 GB Ram, 500GB HD, and W10P. Still waiting on delivery.

I plan and have ordered 2, 8 GB DDR4-SDRAM modules, a 256 GB Samsung 970 EVO Plus MZ-V7S250B Internal SSD PCIe, a EVGA 500 W1 PSU, and an MSI VGA NVIDIA GTX 1050 Ti 4 GB DDR5 GPU.

Does anyone have any suggestions on the order of upgrading/installing/configuring what first, 2nd, 3rd...etc.? Any other tips would be appreciated.

I do have a lot of past experience in PC's but not for the very recent stuff. Thanks for your time!

Solution
  1. Clone existing Windows install onto SSD, and put the HDD aside. Don't touch it till the end. Or start with clean install.
  2. Upgrade RAM. Make sure it works.
  3. Upgrade PSU.
  4. Upgrade GPU.
