Upgrading a HP Compaq dx2200 Microtower

Need help trying to find a suitable and up to date motherboard & CPU. Would it be better to just buy a new desktop? Considering there's no graphics card?

You have the Pentium 4 version? ... Yeah, a bit long in the tooth. A new desktop or trying to work with what you have depends on your budget and what you want to do with it. If you are looking for something more modern you should be warned that you will not be able to use much of what you have, which might lean you toward a new computer.

You could reuse case, DVD. Everything else is up for replacement.
