Upgrading A Hp Pavillion 550-a114

Solution
Short answer, no you can't upgrade the motherboard as you describe.

Long answer:
I took a quick look at your link and it says a couple of important things. One, this is a mini-ITX motherboard, so in theory another motherboard with that same form factor would fit in the case. However, it also says the processor(CPU) is soldered onto the motherboard. It's all one piece. So you'd need a new motherboard and a new CPU to go with it. Companies like HP have been known to do things in non standard ways to cut costs. This assumes the power supply is a standard design, or you'd have to buy a new power supply too. This kind of computer wasn't designed to be upgraded. It's the kind of computer you buy because it's small, cheap, and does what you need. When you outgrow it, it's time to build or buy a new computer.
