Hello & Welcome, ive had my Lenovo Z575 for a while now and i think it time for an upgrade, but i dont like just throwing things away and getting a new one. I have seen videos on the internet of people upgrading there apus and thought maybe i can try this. According to the maintenance manual these are the different available specifications of my laptops apu,
• AMD A8-3500M 2.4GHz/1.5GHz
• AMD A6-3400M 2.3GHz/1.4GHz
• AMD A4-3300M 2.5GHz/1.9GHz
• AMD E2-3000M 1.8GHz
I strangely enough have a 3420M which is not listed in the manual, the question is can i install any APU with the same socket type (FS1) or just the listed ones.

According to the maintenance manual some models have a discrete graphics
• Radeon HD6650M
or
• Radeon HD6470M

Real question is whats the best APU and GPU i can install on my laptop?

Anyone think it would be possible to install a AMD A8-3500M APU and a AMD Radeon HD6650M GPU as they are listed or would i be able to upgrade to different components, for example a APU not listed with the same socket type (FS1)?
