Question Upgrading a pc to 2080ti

I have near zero experience with pc parts and which is good or bad but the thing that i need to upgrade my pc for the better but mainly for gaming,Also here is the parts down below:

intel i5 7400 lga1151

cooler master hyper 212x

RAIDMAX Scorpio series RX-635AP-S

Asus Prime Z270-A (motherboard)

geforce 1050 ti

8gb ram

2tb hhd

i think 220gb ssd i am not sure

BenQ ZOWIE XL2411P (monitor)

i think i have posted some unnecessary information :/ but tbh i just needed to make sure that i have not missed anything

Ok a 2080ti with a i5 7400 pairing is awful you will have bottlenecks, you want at least a 7700 but in all honestly you should be on a 8th or 9th gen i5 or preferably i7 CPU (doesn't need to be a K chip) along with a new motherboard to support it

8GB of RAM is not enough for high res gaming in 2019, you need 16GB in dual channel.

That PSU is garbage, you are risking a thousand dollar card on a cheap 50 buck PSU. You want a high quality 650 watt or great psu with a 2080ti such as a Corsair TXm or RMx, EVGA G3 or Seasonic FOCUS Gold, again at least 650 watt.

That monitor is also a low quality 1080P monitor, which for a 2080ti is pointless, get at least a 1440P.


I think you have a case of wanting to throw in a massively powerful graphics card into a computer that is not really set up for it and waste alot of money on graphical power you wont get. If it were me save alot of money and get something like a GTX 1660ti or RTX 2060.

my budget is quite high i just want a pc that can run all fps game at the highest settings
