Upgrading a prebuilt

So my friend found a prebuild and wanted to upgrade it so he could game on it. It has an i5, 8gb ddr3 ram and a 450w psu. He was thinking an rx480. do you think this is possible?

Possibly. I think the 450w PSU may take a lot of stress from the RX 480. If it is a good quality PSU, it MIGHT be fine. But I definitely recommend looking into a 500w or higher PSU. If you don't, it is a big risk. Trust me, don't go cheap. Because if that PSU fails, it could take out much more of your system.
