[SOLVED] Upgrading AIO

Hey guys,

I have a corsair aio H100i v2 and its been 5 years. My 9900k is running at 4.7 ghz on all cores.
I was thinking of getting a 360 radiator maybe a corsair h150i. Or just leaving my aio for another two years maybe.
My temps seem fine and I've had no issues to this date. Do I try for longevity or bite the bullet and upgrade?
Any thoughts?

Then again, the biggest downside of hybrid coolers - IMO - is that the user needs a backup cooler on hand for whenever the hybrid does eventually break.

H150i Pro or H150i Pro XT? The former if you're not intending to overclock, and the latter if you are.

I'm in the same boat my h110i 280mm has had no issues in 5yrs this month, but I have my stock 3600x cooler when it finally goes down.
When it does go a trip 25 miles south to Micro Center will take care of that.

The closest one is in Houston, a good 4-5hours away...

I went and made a impulse purchase while i had the money, then nvidia surprised everyone with more performance for about the same price.
For my son's xmas I grabbed a

I really don't get that much time to game to really justify it for my system.
But
If our politicians get off their Duffs and get us another stimulus package before xmas and supplies can meet the demand, I mite get a 3070 for my son and I will take the 2070 super.
I would then put the 1070 ti in my wifes.

But at this time if nothing happens I will continue to use the 1070 ti and she get his Zotac gtx 1060 6gb.

Nice! That sounds really good. I'm building a computer for my nephew, so far I have an MB, CPU, and case. My brother is going to give up his graphics card (Haha a 2080ti) as he can write it off for tax purposes as he really wants a 3090 for work. So my nephew, (Without knowing it) will have not a bad system for himself. Also, my brother has a PSU for the pc as well. My nephew is quite lucky his uncles can help him out with his gaming needs haha.

Hand me downs aren't just for cloths. !!!!!!

I've done 3 systems that way.
Starting with the old Amd Fx platform and a gtx 960 , gtx 750, gtx 1060 6gb.
Then I upgraded to the ryzen.
Started upgrade
2600x
Asus rog strix x470 f gaming
G.skill flare x 3200cl14
Corsair H110I
Gtx 1060 6gb
Then
Purchased a 3600x
Msi b450 pro carbon ac
G skill trident z royal gold 2x8 3600 cl16
Gtx 1070 ti

Then the wife wanted more speed I was told( I can't go back ) when she had to use my system for a week till I got back home.

So bought a Asus rog strix x470 ch7 non wifi
R5 3600
And more g.skill flare x .

Haha, yes that would be eating at me too. My brother is giving a 2080ti to my nephew... haha i cant believe it. My nephew won't know how lucky he really is!

I will replace those stock fans with the Noctua 120mm IPPC's I have and repurpose 140mm Noctua's off the 280mm.

Don't discount those corsair ML120s I have a pair of the 140s on my loop, I actually like them a lot. The only time I hear the system is when I'm folding. And even then it's a gentle whoosh.

Corsair has good fans but I definitely like the Noctua's IPPC's versions for their High Static Pressure and Higher Cfm's plus I already have enough Noctua's fans to reconfigure.

As to db levels Yes Noctua's will be loud @higher rpm's But I have always Loved the sound of a 4 barrel QuadraJet on a small block Chevy. LOL
