Recently got an RX480 with my AMD A10 7800. As you may expect, there's quite a bottleneck. Thinking of upgrading to an 8350. Do you think that would be better? If not, what's a low priced AMD CPU i can upgrade to?

I would suggest a lower powered FX6xxx class. That will get you an overclock over 4.0 and run cooler for between $75-100 USD. That could hold you over until you do a new build from the ground up. Performance with the RX480 should be more than adequate. I am running a 6350 at 4.29 with a GTX 770 on a 60hz 27" 1440 monitor and it's more than enough for Elite Dangerous with custom high/highest settings. It's about budget and how long you'll be happy not being on the latest and greatest.

There's no upgrade path with your motherboard. Nor would upgrading to an FX be a good idea considering it's a 2011 platform that wasn't a great performer even back then. If you tell us what your budget actually is, we can give you a much better rundown of what options, if any, you have.

Budget would be less than $200.
Open to anything that fits that.

What version of Windows are you using and was it retail or OEM? If you need to purchase a new Windows key after an upgrade, that's going to take up a large chunk of your budget.

Won't need to purchase windows. Just upgraded everything and kept HDD. Windows stayed working and fine after the switch.
