Current PC specs:
- AMD FX-6350 CPU (w/ Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus)
-16GB of Ballistix Crucial Ram (8gb x 2)
-AX760 Corsair Power Supply
-Nvidia GTX 770
-ASUS Sabertooth 990FX 2.0 mobo (AM3+ socket)
-Samsung SSD 850 PRO 256GB main boot drive.
-Rosewill Blackhawk ATX Mid Gaming Tower Case

My setup is getting pretty old, but I'm still able to play modern games, but want to try and get the best gaming performance from my current mobo.

Wanted some opinions about upgrading my machine.
Should I upgrade my CPU to a FX-8350?
Thinking of possibly upgrading to one of these GPU's: GTX1060/1070/1080

What would be the best cpu/gpu pair that wouldn't bottleneck the performance?

What about cooling? Should I get a watercooler for the cpu or gpu?

Solution
Upgrading to a 6 year old 8350 is not going to help much still bad performance just a extra core. You should be able to get a cheap one used for 40 bucks or so.

Unless your using over a 1080p monitor anything over a GTX 1060 would not really be worth the money.

In gaming the 1060 6GB card would be about a 42% increase in gaming performance but still limited by the processor.

Don't think it's worth the upgrade. Unless you can switch to Ryzen or some Intel setup.

I doubt the GTX 1060 can handle 1080P much longer. Far Cry 5 at max settings barely goes over 60FPS.
And this is only bound to get worse as time passes.
