I have a question. So i was looking to upgrade my FX 4100 to AMD fx 8350. I have a M68MT-S2 motherboard, right now it's coming in the mail but i'd rather cancel it if its completely not going to support it. I've read mixed things of people say it should support, or it doesn't.

Can anyone recommend a motherboard that does support it, that isn't overly priced?

Solution
The board isn't compatible with the 8320 or 8350.

These are:

AMD FX-8140 3200MHz 1MBx8 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB
AMD FX-8120 3100MHz 1MBx8 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB
AMD FX-8100 2800MHz 1MBx8 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB
AMD FX-6120 3500MHz 1MBx6 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB
AMD FX-6100 3300MHz 1MBx6 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB
AMD FX-4150 3900MHz 1MBx4 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB
AMD FX-4100 3600MHz 1MBx4 8MB Bulldozer 32nm B2 95W 5200 FB

[strike]Well, you have the right socket type, I'm just trying to figure out if your board can support a 125W CPU.

It should be compatible. First try simply switching CPUs. This may not work however, and you would then need to flash BIOS. To do this: Install the latest BIOS upgrade from here: http://www.gigabyte.us/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3967#bios and follow Gigabyte's instructions for installing it. Once installed, remove your old CPU then install the 8350.

Now, Flashing BIOS is risky. I'm not going to lie. Just make sure you know what you're doing here. These steps should help guide you: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10-things/10-common-mistakes-you-should-avoid-when-flashing-your-bios/

Best of luck and enjoy your new processor![/strike]

Ignore this.

What is your budget?

My bad. I saw that list too, but I was under the impression that those were just as out of date as the Memory QVLs. At any rate, sorry for the bad advice.

Check out the Asus M5A97 R2.0 for cheap, decent overclocking or the M5A97 LE R2.0 if you don't care about overclocking.
