Solution
It's a 550w power supply I can get a used gtx 1060 for 125$ I just dont want to buy it if it's not a decent upgrade for this pc I'm new to things bought a used system for 250 and it's laggy

You should be fine for 60FPS 1080P gaming, your system will struggle if you are trying to go for 144hz because of that CPU, its going to be a bottleneck with almost any modern GPU.

125 is steep for a 1060, they should be going for around 100. Look for RX580s, they tend to be in the 80-100 range and it will offer similar performance.
Honestly you need to upgrade the whole system, the FX4300 is quite a dated CPU.

To answer your question I would look at the used market for a GPU. Rough order of performance: GTX1050ti, GTX970, RX570, GTX 980, GTX1060 or RX580 (these last two are close in performance)

What power supply do you have? There should be a label on the side of the powersupply inside the case
