Upgrading an Acer Aspire motherboard?

I doubt it, laptops don't normally have much ability for upgrades. The CPU is probably soldered to the motherboard which means even if you could replace it you'd need a new CPU as well. The only parts you can usually upgrade in a laptop are the RAM and HDD. You could easily buy another 4GB of ram to get 8GB for about 30 bucks.
 
I know this thread is kind of old but oh well! I was thinking of the same idea. It could possibly work. First the CPU is not soldered. It can be replaced or even in this case can be transferred to the new motherboard. In my case I have the 5750, and the version we are discussing is the 5750G. The only other items to make this work, would be the special heatsink (for the gpu) and maybe a higher wattage power adapter?
