I have a HP e9220y PC running Win 8.1, that I'm looking to update. I'd say I'm a novice at this at best and am wondering what my options are to upgrade processor, add a solid state HDD for the OS and keep existing disk drive for content storage, audio/video card for output to 4K tv and would appreciate any assistance people can provide that would help me get some additional life out of my PC.

One of the problems i am currently having is no audio output through the HDMI to the tv and i can't seem to get that resolved.

HP e9220y

Processor: AMD Phenom II X4 910(2.6GHz)
Motherboard: AMD 785G
RAM: 8 GB DDR3
Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4350
PCI Express 2.0 x16

If it'd be better to just build a new system from the ground up I'd also be open to suggestions there as well.

For upgrades maybe $500-$600 but wouldn't mind spending less. I don't do much high end gaming; mostly for photo/video editing. The pc is starting to show its age and i thought this would be a good way to extend its life.
