Hello computer peoples. As the title states i am wasting money on a fairly outdated computer upgrade. I am wanting to do a fairly high dollar gaming build in the future but i want to get a little experience before i attempt this. The computer will get passed on to my children when the new rig is complete so its not as dumb as it sounds. I am willing to spend around 400 on the upgrade and i have already purchased 4 more gb of ram that exactly matches the specs of the stock ram (i bought kingston)....my buddy gave me a radeon x1600 series video card....its in and working but i dont know if thats even an ok card.....what i would like to get to is a point where i can play fallout 4 till i do the "big build"...most bang for my buck and ease of installation is mostly what im concerned about....how can i improve the gaming capability the most with the least amount of money/parts to change out?

lol...i know thats the correct answer but im going to waste the money anyhow...i want to upgrade the processor the psu.... graphics card....ram....the money isnt for a badass computer...i want to get used to the tools and process.....so call me an idiot if you need to, but then please help out on the rest if you would.....i think the best processor the mobo will take is a phenom x4 965.....was thinking maybe corsair 500w cx series (semi modular)...then what ever the new processor will handle in a graphics card.....and im not sure if all these additions will need more cooling with my crappy otc case
