[SOLVED] Upgrading an old build

Hi there,
I was thinking about upgrading my sister's pc, but it's pretty old. Is it worth it? Should I try upgrading to Windows 10? Should I try installing an SSD? Would you suggest any hardware improvments?

These are the specs:
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+
GeForce 9600 GT
MSI MS-7369 (MSI K9N Neo V2)
4x1 DDR2 RAM @ 400 MHz
500 GB HDD - Samsung SpinPoint F1 HD502IJ
Windows 7 Home

Not worth it bro. If browsing and media consumption is all she does, leave it as it is. For anything else look for something newer.

Def installing a SSD would improve the experience, since 4Gb system memory will slow down things.

That system really isn't worth doing anything to. I would just go with something a bit more modern. What is your budget here?

To answer all the questions:

1. She mainly uses it to consume content, do schoolwork, etc.
2. I'm not really planning on buying an entirely new pc right now. Was just thinking about enhancing the experience for the time being, but I will definitely consider buying a whole new build in the future.

A cheap SSD wouldn't hurt. This is a really good deal, and can always get reused, later on. Just wouldn't do much otherwise, unless you can find some more ram, cheap, on ebay. Her board can support a 4x2gb kit, for 8gb.

new build time........or buy a cheap prebuilt in the 300-500 range.

Depends on her usage she might be better off with a cheap chrome book?
