Hi, I have an old Dell 790 MT with i7 2600 @ 3.4Ghz, 265W SPU max, Zotact Geforce GTX 1050 2GB, 8GB Ram, 1TB hard drive. I want to upgrade the CPU for video editing, capture console game with Elgato HD60S, and play some game @ 60fps1080p. What should I do to upgrade it to what I want to do with it?

Nvidia usually has a list of approved PSUs on their website. Always go for quality on that part. It protects everything else in the computer (or NOT). Their size recommendation might be a little overkill but no harm there. With a Dell always look at the 5V. power rating on your old PSU. Dell stuck with 5V. much longer than anyone else. The 790 is right about the end of BTX and it may or may not have this issue. EVGA PSUs are good about this. A lot of modern PSUs have 14A 5V. some Dells have up to 22A there.
