Upgrading Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe, AMD64 3500+, GeForce 6600GT

I would love to upgrade my old system, mainly for gaming.

Actual system:
- Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
- AMD64 3500+
- NVidia GeForce 6600GT
- 2GB DDR400

I feel this mother motherboard will be able to give me much more with a new processor and a new GPU.
I'm not finding an economic and reasonable way since I don't find a solution for upgrade processor for a dual core (an absolete socket 939 :-(.

Any idea or strategy for all set?!
