i read somewhere once upon a time that i'll have to flash my bios to upgrade from the Athlon 6000 to the 955

now i have the parts and i can't find a definitive answer . i'm relatively new to building , but i do know my way around the bios

can i just use Asus's "easy flash"

Specs so far :

Athlon 6000+ 3.0 -125w
Asus M4A785-M
BFG -GTX275
G.Skill ddr2 800
Antec 500wtt

As long as everything is working properly I wouldn't worry about it.
If you have strange glitches or it downclocks, (a Cool and Quiet feature usually with a CPU frequency of @800MHz) and doesn't clock back to @3200 under load. Then yes you would need a BIOS up-date.
You can download the latest version of CPU-Z to double check the CPU clock speeds http://majorgeeks.com/CPU-Z_d425.html
