Hello everybody,
I need to buy a new gfx to substitute my old HD5770 (yes, I upgrade very rarely my PC).
It seems the prices of the new cards are now stabilized and more desirable to buy.
I'm going to play at 1080p and even if I buy a new monitor I'm not considering to buy one with higher resolution or freeseync Gsync ( I like the Benq XL2430T ).

The prices around in my country are:
Sapphire Nitro + RX 480 8GB: 285€
Gigabyte TwinForce OC GTX 1060 6GB: 285€
Sapphire Nitro + RX 470 8GB: 240€
Sapphire Nitro + RX 480 4GB: 230€
Gigabyte TwinForce OC GTX 1060 3GB: 230€
Sapphire Nitro + RX 470 4GB: 210€

Based on the "future-proof" I'd prefer the RX480, but in the benchmark that I've seen in DX12 the gtx1060 and rx480 seems to have comparable performances (expect with Mantle)
I've checked a lot of reviews and topics in this forum and the 90% of people suggest the gtx 1060 6 GB over the RX 480 8 GB at the same price; the RX 480 4 GB over 1060 3 GB.

The real question is.. spending 55€ more for 4GB RAM is it worth?
I can afford the 285€, but it seems to me too high the difference between RX 480 4GB and the GTX 1060 6GB (or RX480 8GB) in terms of performance and "future-proof".

What will you suggest?
I'm begging you for an advice :)

Thanks in advance.

P.S. I've an i5-4690 and 8GB ram.

Solution
Not worth it as there isn't much differenace at 1080p.

If your motherboard bios is uefi then the 480 or 470 will work. If not I suggest the 1060 6GB.

The more RAM really depends on your resolution. If its 1080 the 4GB version is fine but if its on 1440p I suggest the 8GB.

The 1060 is different as the 3GB version has 10% of the cores cut thus it slower. Still a good GPU but only on 1080p.
