[SOLVED] Upgrading BIOS for CPU

Hi, So basically I have had problems with a hired company to install my CPU because I wasnt fond of doing it myself... however I missed the appointment and now they won't come so I have to do it myself.

so I was told I might need to update my BIOS, however I'm not sure if I need to update. I'm not sure what motherboard specifically I have, However I do know that its a 100/200 series HP motherboard.

my current CPU is an i5-7600 and I wish to upgrade to an i7-7700k and I checked my bios and my the version is: "AMI F.05" and date "03/07/2017"

Do I NEED to update my BIOS?

If your currently running on i5 7600 , then you shouldn't need an update for the 7700k. Did you get a cooler too , the 7600 stock cooler won't do.

No I didnt... I completely forgot about the cooler 🙁

Sounds strange but could you send me an amazon link of the cooler I would need to purchase, Thanks

no need to update bios for it to be recognized. if yo have a 7000 series CPU, the bios should be fine for all 7000 series at least for 7700/7600 k or non k, they are launched around the time.
