As the title says, I'm looking at changing/upgrading a few things.

As for the case fans, I have already made my decision on what to get, however, my main question is for using a top exhaust fan. Is it better using a single 200mm fan or 2 140 fans? I haven't really seen a clear answer there yet.

Now, for the CPU cooler I was just wondering on what everyone feels is a good cooler. I'm using an Asus Z87 board so I'm not sure how many 1150 CPU coolers are on the market or if that even makes any difference.
Also, I'm leaning more toward Air/fan cooling since that's what I have used the most/am comfortable with but I wouldn't be against water cooling if that is really the way go.

Solution
The Noctua and the Phanteks are definitely top tier products. You're not going to get any better, in terms of performance, than those.

The Xigmatek Gaia and Cooler Master Hyper 212 are decent, affordable coolers that will allow for moderate overclocks.

For an in-between the (before-mentioned) Phanteks PH-TC12DX and the Thermalright True Spirit 140 are good.
I prefer bigger fans from my experience they seem to be more quiet because they move bigger mass of air with less RPM maybe. A good cooler now depends... do you need to overclock cpu?how much budget?

Well, I've been looking for 200mm fans and the best I can see is the NZXT so guess I'll go with that one maybe.

For the cooler, budget isn't really an issue right now. As for overclocking, never really ventured into it so it's not that big of a deal.

just a note that the 200mm nzxt fans have a different mounting point than the standard 200mm fan, my brother in law bought 2 for his thermaltake chasar case and the mounts were different. Apparently there made specifically for the phantom line. Not sure if u have a nzxt case but letting u know ahead of time save money and time lol

Id go with the 200mm even though i dont usually care about the noise but it should be cheaper for a single high quality fan than two high quality 140mms around $30+ for the 140s and $15-25 for the 200. The construction quality of the bitfenix spectre pros are good and they say they move alot of hair spec wise, my friend has one, it does move more air than the cooler master megaflows, but from the specs it seems it should move more lol still a good fan though.

But yes if u get either good designed or high rpm 140s two should beat out a 200 if noise isnt an issue. Look at the noctua 140mm great quality and low noise

I don't have a NZXT case actually so thank you for giving me a heads up on that.
Honestly, I'm leaning more toward the 140s just because there's more of a selection available to me here (Switzerland) than there are 200s.
However, I will definitely look into Bitfenix Spectre Pros.

Now, as for the CPU cooler, do you have any suggestions?

Potentially.

as for CPU coolers, it depends on how much you're willing to spend, what what its purpose is. (Heavy overclocking, or just noise reduction, or both?)

Like I said, I haven't gotten into overclocking but I may. However, mainly looking for something that is quiet with good performance.
Again, price isn't really an issue at the moment. I can go from cheapest to most expensive (maybe if it's REALLY worth it but I doubt I would).

The Noctua NH-D14 seems pretty good and another one I've looked at is the Phanteks PH-TC14PE.

Well thank you for the time. I think I'm going to go with the Noctua. I've liked what I've seen on it and for me here (Swizerland), it's cheaper than the Phanteks (not the TC12, not available here at my retailers).
So thanks for the responses, appreciate the help!
