Greetings everyone,
I am anticipating the release of Diablo 3 next month and I would like to have a fairly smooth gameplay experience. Blizzard is not
known for pushing to the edge for their games, but I do have an older system and have some concerns on where my bottleneck
might be coming from.

My system

CPU: intel e8400 core 2 duo 3.0 ghz
GPU: nvidia gtx 560 (non ti - recently upgraded to this)
Motherboard: eVGA nForce 750i SLI FTW socket LGA 775
Hard drive is a standard hitachi 7200 rpm 32 mb cache
RAM: 8 gigs of pc 6400 800 mhz i believe

I think my biggest bottleneck here will be the old core 2 duo processor. I have a couple of options here as I see it.

1. overclock the 3.0 ghz core 2 duo up to 3.6 ghz (dont know how much performance increase this will give)

2. I have a intel core 2 quad q6600 (2.4ghz) that my brother gave me that I could overclock to 3.0 ghz (again dont know how much
this will help)

3. I really dont have the cash to upgrade but this would be the last option. upgrading the motherboard to a socket lga 1155 as well as the cpu and ram.

Which do you think would be the best option? or would I be fine with the core 2 duo

Diablo 3 does not look very demanding. Those specs should be fine.

You said, "and have some concerns on where my bottleneck might be coming from."

Have you played the beta or something? That sounds like you already have a bottleneck recognized in diablo 3. Unless I misunderstood you.
