So I have a terrible PC specialist vortex i3 gtx 960. Its done me well over time but recently I ordered a new i7 6700k. Its compatible with the board but what didn't dawn on me was the possibility I need a fan upgrade, it has the stock cooler that came with the i3 3.7ghz. I've seen around that the stock fan would be fine as long as I didn't over clock but I just wanted to make sure before I install and kill my new expensive cpu

Solution
If you will run it stock, wich would be a big waste for any K series, the stock will do the job, ofc not a fantastic job but it is designed to work, so it must.

now if you really want to install a better one for.. idk, reasons, or perhaps a future small overclock... you can go with the le oldy, trusty and affordable Hyper 212 evo, or if u want some real bang for your buck, noctua NH-D15.

other than that you'd have to go liquid.
