Upgrading CPU along with motherboard

I'm thinking of upgrading my PC, here's my current build:

Intel Core i3-4170 (6M Cache, 3.7 GHz)
Asus Geforce GTX 750 Ti (2GB GDDR5)
MSI H81M-P33 (Intel H81, socket 1150)
Crucial Memory DIMM 4GB (PC12800 DDR3, 1600 MHZ) x2
Seagate HDD SATA (1TB, 7200 rpm, 6 Gb/s, 64MB DDR2)
Seasonic G-360 80 Plus Gold Active PFC-360 Watts

But it's not enough to run Dark Souls 3, so I'm thinking of changing my motherboard and getting an i5.
What do you recommend?
Will my RAM sticks be compatible with the new motherboard?
Will my 360 Watt power supply be enough?

I'd keep your board, update the bios before removing your i3, buy a 4790 and destroy everything gaming wise (at least from the CPU side, a 750it will hold you back most of the time, but lower setting will help)

You mean i7-4790? Would that even be compatible with my motherboard?

The bios needs to be updated to work with Haswell refresh cpus. Then you can change the cpu.

There are also Xeon cpus that will work too. And the bit cheaper i5-4460.

The i3-4170 is pretty good for gaming. You would be better off going with a GTX1050ti.

Because it's a better quality power supply, it should be ok, 360watts is still enough for this even if you go with a i7. The 1050ti is close in wattage to the 750ti.

The faster GTX1060 or 1080 is worth considering if you upgrade to a i7.

Isn't a GTX1050 Ti a bit overkill? I feel like something cheaper would do the trick as well.

it's the best GPU out there that won't need any pin connector (here's the specs: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-750-Ti-vs-Nvidia-GTX-1050-Ti/2187vs3649), and no, it's not an overkill, it'll run DS3 on med-high probably as the recommended GPU is a GTX 970 (which pretty much on par with GTX 1060)
if u're getting a 1060 [the TDP 150w, twice the 1050ti's TDP] instead, might want to consider upgrading your PSU too (it's getting too narrow with that listed wattage)

for CPU: it's still pretty great, except on CPU intensive games, where more thread will benefits more [games with big maps like DS, GTAV, Fallout / games with many players like BF1] (this is why the people above recommend u to upgrade your CPU)

ur mobo will support most of 4th gen intel CPU (the haswell + the haswell refresh) but since ur mobo is a H81, u can't use it to OC, so the best u can get is a i7 4790
ram is still pretty good for games nowdays, although newer games later on might need more than 8GB
